On September 26, the spokesman of the Armaments Agency, Lt. Col. Krzysztof Płatek, informed via social media about another agreement concluded with the industry of the Republic of Korea. We are talking about a lot of 40 mm K4 automatic grenade launchers.

According to the published information, there is an intervention purchase of “several hundred” K4 automatic grenade launchers together with 500000 pieces of ammunition. The above transaction is translated as an intervention purchase with a completion date within a few months, worth several million USD. Information on the interest of the Ministry of National Defense in K4 automatic grenade launchers was made public by the authorities of the Republic of Korea on September 22. As indicated by the South Korean media, the K4 grenade launchers are the first type of weapon produced by the local industry to be included in the Polish list of intervention orders in this country.

So far, the Ministry of National Defense has published information about large orders of military equipment in the Republic of Korea. On August 26, in Morąg, contracts for the supply of 180 K2 Black Panther tanks with 212 K9 howitzers were approved. On September 16, contracts for the purchase of 48 FA-50 Golden Eagle fighter jets were signed in Mińsk Mazowiecki. In the statements of the representatives of the Ministry of Defense, there has been no information about the purchase of automatic grenade launchers so far.

Currently, the Polish Army uses automatic Mk 19 grenade launchers for the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan (about 200), as well as HK GMG, which went to special units.
