On June 1, the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers, Minister of National Defense, Mr. Mariusz Błaszczak, approved a framework contract for the supply of 155 mm artillery ammunition with the possibility of acquiring various types of 120 mm ammunition.

Agreement concluded between the Armament Agency, representing the State Treasury, and the PGZ-AMUNICJA Consortium composed of: Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. (leader), Zakłady Metalowe Dezamet S.A., Mesko S.A., Zakłady Chemiczne “Nitro-Chem” S.A., Zakład Produkcji Publiczny “Gamrat” Sp. . z o. o. and Bydgoskie Zakłady Elektromechaniczne Belma S.A., aims to define the terms and conditions of concluding executive contracts related to the supply of 155 mm artillery ammunition for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.

As a result of the concluded framework agreement, over the course of the entire project, in the years 2023-2029, a record amount, counted in hundreds of thousands, of various types of 155 mm artillery ammunition will be acquired. In addition, it is planned to acquire ammunition dedicated to training, together with training packages and technical documentation of the products. The agreement also allows for the acquisition of 120 mm ammunition. The first executive contract will be concluded later this year.

The agreement in question is part of the implementation of the objectives of the long-term program “National Reserve of Ammunition”, established by Resolution No. 43 of the Council of Ministers of March 29, 2023, under which conditions are to be created for the effective and timely replenishment of large-caliber ammunition stocks by the Polish Armed Forces. Under the program, it is assumed that the production capacity of the domestic defense industry will be established and then maintained at a level enabling the ammunition stocks to be replenished on an ongoing basis, and the so-called “spare production capacity” will be able to be directed to foreign partners.
