«Shostka Plant «Impulse» State Enterprise, which is part of Ukroboronprom, will launch mass production of ammunition for underbarrel grenade launcher and automatic grenade launchers for the first time in the history of independent Ukraine. This became possible due to a fruitful public-private partnership with «Vector-V» Special Design Bureau, which developed this ammunition.
This was discussed during a press briefing by Yuriy Husyev, General Director of Ukroboronprom State Concern, on November 1.
«Serial manufacture of this ammunition marks the beginning of recovery of Ukraine’s ammunition industry,” the General Director of the State Concern said. — The Impulse Shostka Plant possesses all the necessary capabilities and competencies for production and proves its ability to meet the critical need in ammunitions of Ukraine’s army. We also strive that Ukraine’s takes the lead in world arms markets.»
Ukraine has always been dependent on the foreign supplies of this kind of munitions. Today, Vector-V design bureau as a developer and the Impulse Shostka Plant as a manufacturer join their efforts in order to meet the critical need of Ukraine’s army in ammunition for underbarrel grenade launchers and automatic grenade launchers.
«Today, Ukraine finally got its own production of ammunition for grenade launchers, which has a closed cycle. It is a success for our special design bureau, and an undeniable victory and an example of effective public-private partnership for Ukraine,» Vitaly Zhukov, the head of the Vector-V Special Design Bureau, stressed.
It is important to emphasize that Ukrainian Vector-V design bureau has undergone a full cycle of state tests of the VOG-17V. At the same time, the company carried out the development and the whole cycle of state tests of ammunition at its own working capital without attracting state funding, using only the research and production potential of the Impulse Shostka Plant.
Ukroboronprom State Concern for their full support. Due to this operation, today we are demonstrating ammunition for a grenade launcher, entirely produced from the parts of domestic production,» Vitaly Kainara, head of the Impulse Shostka Plant, said.
Thus, Ukraine becomes one of 12 countries who have a closed cycle of production of ammunition for close range combat. It also marks the beginning of the recovery of Ukraine’s munitions industry.
