On March 28, at the Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. shipyard in Gdańsk, the ceremonial start of steel cutting for the fourth of the series of modern KORMORAN II project 258 minehunters took place.
On June 26, at the Naval Port in Świnoujście, with the participation of the Minister of National Defense, a contract was signed for the supply of new modern MCM’s KORMORAN II class for the Polish Navy.
On the 15th of March Mariusz Błaszczak, Polish Minister of Defence, announced that the Armament Agency is going to order another three Kromoran II MCM’s for the Polish Navy.
iXblue Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) have been selected to provide critical navigation capabilities to the Polish Navy’s new-build Kormoran II class mine countermeasure vessels (MCMV). iXblue partner, THESTA, will be responsible for integrating and delivering the INS to PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, a member of the PGZ Group, the leading contractor of naval navigation, communications and combat systems in Poland.
